DRAWING ON THE SUSQUEHANNA
Four Centuries of Artistic Inspiration and Commerce
This exhibit is a unique portrait of the Susquehanna River. With over four centuries of artistic expression, in varied media, by artists whose works introduced the American landscape as a picturesque destination. They demonstrate many diverse techniques, exploring some of the latest technologies of their era.
Shown on display are engravings of copper and steel, lithographs, chromolithography, etchings, paintings and drawings, transferware pottery, books and framed works of art.
